I have always had a love for animals. As a child I lived near the Mohawk Humane Society and spent my days playing with the shelter's dogs, cats and small animals. My dad was Chief of Police in the Village and we would often take home scared shelter pets in hopes of finding them a home. Over the years I have volunteered and supported several local pet organizations. While working at Shen I formed a pet club where students made toys or collected needed items for shelter pets. Pets have always had my heart.
I am married to my wonderful husband Don and we have two amazing adult sons! We have a Pitty named Nala (photo right). She was rescued from a kill shelter in TX. We also have a cat named Willow that came from a shelter in VT.
I recently retired early from Shenendehowa Schools to fulfill my dream of offering pet services. I have always been comfortable with all sizes and breeds of animals. I don't remember a time where my house wasn't full of them! One of my favorite quotes is, "I truly believe that the purity of a person's heart can be quickly measured by how they regard animals". - Theophile Gautier
It is important to note that I never take on too many jobs where it will affect those I am caring for. Bottom line... the pets come first.
